However, the issue of charging stations may be a major obstacle for MG4. In Vietnam, currently only VinFast owns a nationwide charging station system and the company has no plans to share with other brands.

Other electric car models currently on sale in our country such as Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-Benz EQS all rely heavily on charging stations installed at dealerships or at home. Therefore, without developing its own charging infrastructure, MG4's customer base will be quite limited even if the car has an accessible price.
Sales consultants said that if launched for sale in Vietnam, MG4 will come with a mobile charger, but not all users have a private car park at home to recharge the car.

In terms of performance, the MG4 is equipped with an electric motor on the rear axle for a maximum capacity of 170 horsepower and maximum torque of 250 Nm. The battery pack has a capacity of 51 kWh, giving a maximum operating range of up to 425 km after each full charge, much larger than the VinFast VF e34 (285 km).
The vehicle supports 6.6 kW AC slow charging and 88 kW DC fast charging. The time to fully charge the battery with a slow charger as announced by the manufacturer is 8.5 hours and with a fast charger, the car only takes about 35 minutes to charge from 0 - 80%.
