According to TechRadar, Sony just shared its plans to stop making games for PS4 in 2025. In a document, the company outlined its financial expectations for PS5, PC, and other platforms. Since the launch of the PS5, there have been a number of cross-gen games that have appeared. When released, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy: A Big Adventure were both available on PS4 and PS5. This year alone, titles like Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 have also joined both generations of Sony consoles, and God of War: Ragnarök appears to be marking the last straw for a major release. multi-generational.

Although the game for PS4 will end, Sony is still continuing production of PS4 into 2022, excluding the PS4 Pro version. This shows that Sony's best-selling older generation product has not disappeared. That's a big departure from Microsoft's strategy of ending production for the Xbox One line in 2020.

This shows that PlayStation's previous statements and subsequent actions are inconsistent. As more PS5 exclusive games like Marvel's Spider-Man 2 are confirmed, it's easy to see that cross-gen releases seem to be coming to an end.
