Apple is unlikely to release advanced "homegrown" AI chatbots with iOS 18.
The WWDC 2024 conference is approaching, promising to bring breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI) from Apple . However, an important AI feature developed by Apple itself may not appear on iOS 18 .
Expected to start on June 10, WWDC 2024 will be the focus of attention of the technology world when Apple reveals its AI strategy. Although details have yet to be revealed, many people expect improvements to the virtual assistant Siri.
Apple may not bring AI assistant to iOS 18 soon.
However, according to Bloomberg, iOS 18 will focus on user support features rather than new generation AI chatbots. Instead of chatbots, iOS 18 will bring new proactive features to help users complete daily tasks more effectively.
This does not mean that chatbots will be completely absent from iOS 18. Apple is expected to announce an AI-based App Store at WWDC, opening up the potential for chatbots in the future.
In fact, rumors about Apple collaborating with Google to use Gemini AI technology for the iPhone have appeared before. In addition, there is official information about Apple cooperating with Baidu to apply new generation AI technology to the Chinese market.
The WWDC 2024 event promises to bring a lot of interesting information about Apple's AI strategy. Whether iOS 18 is really "absent" of a new generation AI chatbot still needs to wait for official revelations from Apple next June.
