Qualcomm quietly introduced a brand new mid-range chipset

The mid-range chipset was just launched by Qualcomm without any announcement.

Recently, Qualcomm quietly introduced the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset on the company's website without any official announcement. However, it seems that this silence is for a reason, because the new chip does not bring too much attraction and impressive parameters.

Qualcomm has quietly introduced the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset.

Qualcomm has quietly introduced the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset.

formation, Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 has two versions, 4G and 5G, based on TSMC's 6nm process. This chipset is equipped with two CPU clusters, including two Cortex-A78 cores clocked up to 2.3GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 2.0GHz. Although Qualcomm has overclocked the CPU compared to its predecessors, the overall performance is still not really outstanding.

Another disappointing point of Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is that the camera ISP only supports 1080p@60fps video recording, a quite outdated specification at the present time. This makes the new chipset less attractive than the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 launched in 2022, with a 4nm process, more powerful GPU, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 memory and support for 4K@30fps video recording.

However, according to recent benchmark leaks, the Motorola G85 may be one of the first devices equipped with Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. However, with unimpressive specifications, will this chip Whether it can meet user needs or not is still a big question.

Qualcomm says the Snapdragon

At the annual Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii, Qualcomm announced a major addition to its mobile chip lineup with the Snapdragon X Elite - a processor the company calls Qualcomm's most powerful to date. .

Snapdragon X Elite will elevate future Windows PCs.

Snapdragon X Elite is an Arm chip developed from the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 laptop chip line launched last year. The company decided to change the name to reflect the leap in performance of this upcoming generation. Powered by 12 Oryon cores, Qualcomm claims the X Elite offers up to two times faster CPU performance than Intel's 13th generation Core i7-1360P and i7-1355U CPUs, while consuming up to 68%.

The chip is based on a 4nm design manufactured by TSMC with a standard clock speed of 3.8 GHz, with the ability to boost up to 4.3 GHz. The chip also includes a total cache of 42 MB with LPDDR5x memory bandwidth of 136 GB/s. When compared to the M2 chip, Qualcomm says the Snapdragon X Elite has peak multi-threaded performance that is 50% faster. And thanks to the integrated GPU, the Snapdragon X Elite is said to twice deliver the graphics performance of the Core i7-13800H at ISO.
