According to SamMobile, in 2022, Samsung launched its first PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, the 990 PRO. This product line then had two variants: 1TB and 2TB. In addition, the company also announced a 4TB version of the 990 PRO, but so far, it still has no news in the technology market.

The SSD 990 PRO series uses Samsung's latest V-NAND and is capable of achieving the highest sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,450MB/s and 6,900MB/s. SSDs can be used in a variety of devices, such as gaming consoles, laptops, PCs, and servers. It comes with a heatsink to improve the performance of the SSD under constant use.

While the first PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs have begun to hit the market, Samsung has yet to reveal its PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSDs for consumers. However, the company still has a PCIe 5.0 SSD for servers called PM1743. It has sequential read and write speeds of up to 13,000MB/s and 6,600MB/s.
