iPhone 16 has not been released yet, but rumors about iPhone 18 Pro have appeared

According to the latest report, the under-screen Face ID facial scanning feature will be pushed back to the iPhone 18 Pro pair - expected to launch in 2026.

Last April, on the social network X/Twitter, Ross Young - Screen supply consultant announced that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max with Face ID under the screen will replace the current Dynamic Island area with a "hole-punch" camera on the front.

However, this expert recently confirmed that Face ID under the screen on iPhone will be delayed by a year - to 2026. This technology is expected to be available on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Standard iPhone models will not have Face ID under the screen until the iPhone 19 series, expected to launch in late 2027.

Additionally, Ross Young also predicts that all iPhone 17 versions will use LTPO displays. Starting with the iPhone 14 Pro, LTPO displays allow the iPhone Pro models to have an always-on display while maintaining battery life.

At that point, the “always-on” display feature will become standard on all iPhone models. Currently, standard iPhones only have LTPS displays and do not come with the “always-on” display feature.

Of course, all rumors about the future iPhone line are just predictions. The iPhone 16 generation will be launched in September this year, keeping the Dynamic Island area like its predecessor.

The iPhone 16 series is scheduled to be officially announced in September. Rumors suggest that they will feature new 3nm chips and AI capabilities. At the same time, some versions will have larger screens, new ultra-wide cameras, and larger batteries.

Recently, the image of the mold for the iPhone 16 series was posted by the website ShopSystem (France). This image shows that the new iPhone series will have a slight change - MagSafe.

Introduced with the iPhone 12, MagSafe is a magnetic technology created by Apple that places a series of magnets around the iPhone's charging coil. This technology allows for wireless charging of the iPhone and attachment of accessories like wallet cases to the phone.

According to newly leaked photos, the charging ring on the iPhone 16 will be thinner. ShopSystem believes that this change could make older MagSafe and Qi2 chargers incompatible with the new iPhone. On the other hand, 9to5Mac's source said that this is unlikely.

On the other hand, reducing thickness will improve charging technology and reduce the weight of the phone.

These images also fit with previous rumors that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will feature a vertical rear camera layout. This rearrangement would allow Apple to bring spatial video recording — currently only available on the iPhone Pro models — to the standard iPhone models.

Additionally, the photos are evidence that the iPhone Pro models will be "huge" in size, which could become the best phones of 2024.
