The iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 lines are said to use Samsung's most advanced panel technology that the Galaxy S24 Ultra doesn't have.
In addition to owning the best Android phones today, Samsung also produces top-quality OLED panels, but that doesn't mean all Samsung smartphones are equipped with the most advanced panels.
According to Phone Arena, Samsung's high-end display product, the M14 OLED panel, will be used for the upcoming Google Pixel 9 series and Apple iPhone 16 Pro duo.
Apple's 2024 Pro models and Google's entire upcoming lineup are said to use M14 OLED technology. Samsung is one of the leaders in displays and produces the highest-performance OLED displays using the most advanced new materials.
The company's most advanced monitors are part of the M series. Higher model numbers indicate higher quality displays.
The M14 technology will be first introduced on the Pixel 9 series, which is expected to launch on August 13. In addition to the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL, the second-generation Pixel Fold is also rumored to use the M14 OLED display.
iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 rumored to have higher quality displays than Galaxy S24 Ultra - iPhone 16 Pro and Pixel 9 are said to be far ahead of the Galaxy S24 Ultra in terms of display technology.
This will be the first time this display has been used on a smartphone and it is expected to outperform existing technologies in terms of brightness and longevity.
It is expected that Apple will only use M14 OLED screen technology for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models, while the standard and Plus variants will continue to have the same M12 screen technology as the current generation.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, are also said to use M12 OLED displays. Official information about the display technology used for Apple's new product line will likely be revealed at the September event.
According to a previous report, next year's iPhone 17 series will likely also stick with the M14 display as each generation of material is typically used for two years.
Samsung's current flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, uses the M13 panel. So it's possible that its successor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, will use the M14 screen.
