It is expected that Apple will only use M14 OLED screen technology for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models, while the standard and Plus variants will continue to have the same M12 screen technology as the current generation.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5, are also said to use M12 OLED displays. Official information about the display technology used for Apple's new product line will likely be revealed at the September event.

According to a previous report, next year's iPhone 17 series will likely also stick with the M14 display as each generation of material is typically used for two years.

Samsung's current flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, uses the M13 panel. So it's possible that its successor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, will use the M14 screen.
