Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 16 series around September, but rumors about them have been everywhere.
An earlier rumor suggested that the MagSafe ring on the back of the iPhone 16 series would be thinner. Then there were rumors that this year's iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models would feature a vertically-aligned camera module.
The iPhone 16 Pro in particular is rumored to have a larger camera sensor to enable a 5x optical zoom lens - previously only available on the Max models. Additionally, all iPhone 16 models are expected to feature a dedicated Capture button for the camera.
Faster charging will bring many benefits to iPhone 16 Pro series users.
Now, a new report suggests that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max variants will offer significantly faster charging speeds. Specifically, they will support 40W (wired) or 20W (MagSafe) fast charging. All four current iPhone 15 models support up to 27W wired fast charging with a compatible charger and 15W for MagSafe charging.
The bezels on the iPhone 16 models are also expected to be thinner this year, to the point where they are said to be the thinnest on any smartphone. This will give more screen space to all variants. Additionally, Apple is said to be supplying Samsung's M14 OLED panels for the high-end iPhone 16 duo, which means better image quality than the OLED panels found in the Galaxy S24 series.

Finally, Apple is expecting iPhone 16 series sales to be outstanding this year. As a result, the company has increased chip orders and expects sales of this series to exceed 100 million units.
Like every year, Foxconn has begun hiring more workers to help run assembly lines at its largest factory in Zhengzhou, China.
That means the iPhone 16 series will soon be mass-produced in preparation for the traditional September launch. These new hires will likely receive $3.44 (about 87,430 VND at the current exchange rate) per hour of work. Workers previously working at the Zhengzhou plant also received bonuses of up to $1,032 (26.23 million VND), according to recruitment posts published by Foxconn.

This is an improvement over the package that Foxconn’s “A” unit, the contract manufacturer’s main iPhone manufacturing group, offered prospective factory workers last month, which included a bonus of up to $826. Foxconn is also raising wages at its Shenzhen facility to $3.03 an hour from $2.89 for temporary workers, also in preparation for mass production of the iPhone 16 series.
The Shenzhen factory is trying to lure former employees back for the iPhone production season by offering them monthly salaries of up to $826 for the first three months. Workers who stay at Foxconn longer will get a pay raise later, according to a recruitment poster posted at the factory.
According to the report, Apple believes that Apple Intelligence will lead to stronger demand for the iPhone 16 series, with sales of 90-100 million units in 2024, up from the 81 million iPhone 15 series it achieved in 2023.

This year, Apple is expected to launch a 6.1-inch iPhone 16, a 6.7-inch iPhone 16 Plus, a 6.3-inch iPhone 16 Pro, and a 6.9-inch iPhone 16 Pro Max. Production of displays for the iPhone 16 series began last month.
All four iPhone 16 models will support Apple Intelligence, while only the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will support Apple's AI features, so there will likely be a large number of iPhone 15, 15 Plus, and older model users upgrading. That's why Foxconn is ramping up its hiring.
