Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch Ultra alongside the Galaxy Watch 7 series, as well as another new addition to its health and fitness tracking tech: the Galaxy Ring.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra comes in just one size option, 47mm. It weighs 60.5g, which is double the weight of the Galaxy Watch 7. Its dimensions are 47.1 x 47.4 x 12.1mm.
Samsung’s top-of-the-line smartwatches feature dedicated buttons for easy access to specific features. The Quick button, as Samsung calls it, can instantly launch and control workouts and map other functions. You can also use it to trigger an emergency alert to signal a distress call.

In terms of durability, the Galaxy Watch Ultra has a grade 4 Titanium frame and 10ATM water resistance (water resistant for 10 minutes at a depth of 100 meters), suitable for users with an active lifestyle and regular exercise.
Samsung claims the Watch Ultra can operate in a wide range of environments, from 500 meters below sea level to 9,000 meters above sea level. This durability is one of the main distinguishing factors that sets the Galaxy Watch Ultra apart from the regular Galaxy Watch 7.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra puts a big emphasis on fitness tracking with features like new multi-sport integration for complex workouts and AI-powered FTP measurement for cycling. Additionally, the personalized HR Zone training program lets users optimize their workouts.

There are over 100 workouts available, and you can build a routine by combining different workouts with the Watch Ultra's Workout Routine feature. Additionally, the Race feature lets you compare your current and past performance in real time to track your progress and past achievements.

There's also a brand new feature that allows the Galaxy Watch Ultra, as well as the Galaxy Watch 7, to detect signs of sleep apnea. Samsung says this is made possible by the integration of AI algorithms for sleep analysis and the new 3nm Exynos W1000 chipset inside.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra boasts the longest battery life in the Galaxy Watch line, with up to 100 hours in Power Saving mode with a 590mAh battery. When in Power Saving mode while exercising, Samsung claims the watch can last up to 48 hours.

Samsung has created a display that can reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, making it perfect for outdoor viewing. The Galaxy Watch Ultra also has the ability to automatically switch to Night Mode in low light conditions to save battery.
The Ultra is the first Android smartwatch to come with the new Wear OS 5 operating system, which offers smoother performance and better battery life.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra can also be paired with Samsung's new Galaxy Ring, which provides more comprehensive health data, especially when it comes to sleep tracking.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, along with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Ring, will begin in select markets on July 10 and will be available to the general public from July 24. The Galaxy Watch Ultra will come in a 47mm size and will be available in Titanium Gray, Titanium White, and Titanium Silver.
