Secure chat app reduces the risk of having your messages read

Many Internet users are still concerned that their messages will be read by third parties.

According to a report by the Center for Information Technology and Cyber Security Monitoring (Government Cipher Committee), there were a total of 32,265 cyber security threats targeting critical information technology networks in the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 18.7% over the same period in 2023.

This raises concerns for Internet users when using social networking and messaging applications. Therefore, protecting privacy and cybersecurity is the key to a safe Internet environment, helping to minimize the risk of data suppression and protect users from cyber attacks, contributing to increasing trust in online services.

Recently, during his visit to Vietnam, Viber's Senior Vice President - Mr. Atanas (Nasko) Raykov commented: Vietnam is a potential market for Viber's development. In addition, Viber wishes to contribute to efforts to protect network security in Vietnam in the field of professional and multi-utility communication.

“Rakuten Viber aims to become a specialized communication application for professionals. With a commitment to safety, security and efficiency, Viber provides a reliable communication solution for government and business professionals. While popular services on the market today do not prioritize this area, this is the focus that Viber will increase investment to continue building the trust of Vietnamese users,” said Mr. Atanas (Nasko) Raykov - Senior Vice President of Viber.

In the global market, especially in Europe, Rakuten Viber is considered a messaging application that ensures security and privacy for users with SOC 2 Type 2 certification, demonstrating its commitment to complying with the highest standards of security and user data privacy in the EU.

After Apple blocked iMessage exploits, the Beeper Mini app is back.

According to BGR, last week, the Beeper Mini app made headlines when it brought iMessage to Android. However, just a few days later, users started reporting that iMessage was no longer working with Beeper Mini, after which Apple announced that it had blocked the app. Now, the Beeper Mini app is back thanks to a new solution.

The new change will require users to have an Apple ID account, meaning Android phones will communicate with iMessage via their Apple ID email address rather than their phone number. Previously, Beeper Mini allows Android users to sign up with a phone number, which will be used to register the device with iMessage. However, phone number registration has now been removed, and users will instead use their Apple email ID to receive and send iMessages on Android.

Beeper Mini is still "stubbornly" fighting with Apple.

Beeper Mini is still "stubbornly" fighting with Apple.

Beeper also said that it is working on restoring phone number registration. Additionally, the company has decided to offer the Beeper Mini for free, instead of requiring a $2/month subscription as it did before. Given the current situation and the fact that Apple could block the Beeper Mini at any time, the company probably doesn't want to charge users until things return to normal.

Beeper Mini's new solution doesn't use the Mac's relay server the way Nothing's iMessage app does. The company says it still runs in the cloud and works the same way it was originally designed. Of course, Apple will likely come up with some sort of workaround for this, and it remains to be seen how long Beeper can keep up with Apple.
