Apple has just officially launched the new generation MacBook Air laptop, using the M3 chip and integrating many artificial intelligence features.
Nearly 2 years after launching the MacBook Air using the M2 chip in June 2022, Apple has just launched an upgraded version of the product.
Apple has not changed the design and appearance of the product. MacBook Air is still equipped with 2 screen options of 13.6-inch (2560x1664) and 15.3-inch (2880x1864), the screen refresh rate is still at 60Hz.
The most impressive upgrade on the new generation MacBook Air is that it is equipped with the M3 chip, the latest chip version developed by Apple, with stronger processing speed and graphics processing capabilities, WiFi connection speed is doubled and especially supports connecting MacBook Air to 2 external screens at the same time, a feature that does not appear on the old MacBook Air version.
However, to connect to 2 external screens, users will have to fold the MacBook Air screen down. In case the product screen is opened, one of the 2 external screens will be disconnected. This means that users can only connect and use a maximum of 2 screens at a time (including laptop screens) on the MacBook Air M3.
Apple also equipped the new generation Neural Engine chip on the MacBook Air, allowing for increased processing capabilities related to artificial intelligence. Apple confidently declared the MacBook Air M3 as "the best AI laptop for users", which shows that Apple will equip a series of AI features for its new product.
While most high-end laptops today come with a minimum of 16GB of RAM, Apple continues to offer a minimum of 8GB of RAM for its new products.
Previously, Apple claimed that 8GB RAM on MacBooks provides the same performance and power as 16GB RAM on Windows laptops, however, the technology world later proved that Apple's claim was incorrect.
The 13-inch MacBook Air M3 is equipped with a 52.6Wh battery, while the 15-inch option has a 66.5Wh battery. This battery allows both products to watch videos continuously for 18 hours or browse the web wirelessly for 15 hours.
The MacBook Air M3 is available for pre-order today and will be available on March 8. The 13-inch model starts at $1,099 and the 15-inch model starts at $1,299.
Along with the launch of the MacBook Air M3, the 13-inch MacBook Air M2 version is also reduced to $999, while the MacBook Air version using the M1 chip will be officially "killed".
