MD's new phone model has a fun design and color like a children's toy.
After HMD confirmed the global launch of the Barbie phone on August 28, the phone's specifications and images have appeared on China's TENAA certification agency, according to Gizmochina.
When HMD first announced the phone earlier this year, it made it clear that it would be a classic flip phone rather than a smartphone. And the TENAA certification confirms that.
HMD is about to launch a phone with a funny design like a children's toy.
Photos of the actual device show a feature phone with nothing special, aimed at leveraging brand recognition rather than innovation.
The HMD Barbie looks like a favorite toy for little girls.
In terms of specifications, the phone is revealed to have a 2.8-inch TFT display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.
The certification also mentions a secondary display, which is even smaller at 1.77 inches with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels, but this display is not visible in the images provided by TENAA.
The phone runs on a modest 1.05GHz single-core SoC and has just 64MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage.

This setup is unlikely to support much beyond basic calling and texting.
HMD is about to launch a phone with a funny design like a children's toy.
Storage expansion is also limited to 32GB via a micro-SD card slot and the device has 4G LTE connectivity.
It will be powered by a 1450mAh battery that can be easily replaced thanks to the removable back cover. For basic photography, you will find a single camera on the back with an LED flash.
Unsurprisingly, the overall design leans heavily towards the HMD Barbie aesthetic.
The phone is a bright pink color scheme, with a large Barbie logo prominently displayed on the lid.
However, the back has a contrasting silver finish.
The phone measures 108 x 55 x 18.9mm and weighs 123 grams.
Pricing information for the HMD Barbie has yet to be revealed, but it wouldn't be surprising if it were affordable.
