Huawei's crazy 3-fold screen smartphone is a real innovation in the smartphone segment.
The world of smartphones is constantly evolving and despite the ongoing technological-political “war”, Huawei continues to push the boundaries of its products.

In fact, Huawei's latest ambition is to break new ground with its next challenge being a triple-folding screen phone!
According to rumors, this "super product" will launch as early as the fourth quarter of this year - it could change the way we think about foldable phones.
Idealizing Huawei's Tri-fold Screen Smartphone
So why did Huawei pursue this design? The main reason is to provide a better screen for multitasking and multimedia. With a larger screen, users can run three full-size apps side by side without having to shrink screen space or navigate.
For those who frequently multitask on their phones, this could be a game changer. Whether you're taking notes while watching a video or keeping up with emails while browsing the web, the tri-fold design could make for more seamless multitasking.

But the highlight of this design is the ability to watch videos and movies. The larger, wider screen will provide a more immersive viewing experience, taking movies and entertainment to a whole new level. When opened, they become a large tablet, but when folded, they still fit in your pocket.
With three separate parts, Huawei can integrate three separate batteries, each of which powers a portion of the display. This could help the device last longer on a single charge, especially with frequent use.
Huawei's 'Foldable 3' Will Be the First Phone That Turns Into a 'Real Tablet'
It's hard to imagine Huawei being able to create a tri-fold phone that's still as thin and light as current foldable phones.
The trend of foldable phones, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 6, is to be “thinner and lighter.” Meanwhile, introducing a tri-fold design would create a device that is significantly thicker and heavier, which could be a deterrent for many users.

And yet, how much will Huawei's tri-fold phone weigh? 300 grams or more?
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 already weighs around 240 grams, and adding a third display and battery will definitely make the device heavier.
Battery life is another concern. While the idea of three separate batteries is promising, the important thing is that these batteries are likely to be very thin.
And since the phone will be "mostly screen" (possibly up to 10 inches), Huawei may have trouble balancing durability with full screen use.
This means that despite having a large battery, the device still needs to be charged regularly – especially if the user is using power-intensive tasks like streaming video or running multiple apps at once.
And of course, there are durability issues with this “super product.” In a traditional foldable phone, the screen is protected when the device is folded. But in Huawei’s tri-fold design, the back of the phone is the screen. This can make the device susceptible to scratches, cracks, and damage.
3-screen foldable phone will cost $4,000
The rumored price tag of the foldable phone – $4,000 – points to another potential problem for the “breakthrough”, as it would require very high research and development and manufacturing costs.

The idea is innovative and forward-thinking, pushing the smartphone industry forward. However, they also have major challenges that need to be addressed to become a practical option for everyday use.
Huawei's ambitions are admirable, but only time will tell whether it can overcome the hurdles and deliver a truly game-changing device.
