The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to have super thin screen borders, reaching the pinnacle of design.
The latest leaks about the iPhone 16 Pro Max from leaker Ice Universe suggest that Apple may have reached the limits of smartphone screen bezel design. An image believed to be a screen protector for the iPhone 16 Pro Max has revealed an extremely thin bezel, just 1.15mm, surrounding the entire screen.
Leaked images of the super thin bezel size of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
According to previous rumors, Apple asked OLED panel suppliers to reduce the size of the screen bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, which led to some difficulties in the production process. However, it seems that these problems have been resolved and the launch of the iPhone 16 will not be delayed.
The narrowing of the screen bezels allows Apple to increase the screen size on the iPhone 16 Pro to 6.3 inches and the iPhone 16 Pro Max to 6.9 inches, while maintaining the overall size of the device. This is a significant improvement in design, bringing a better viewing experience to users.
However, minimizing the screen bezel to the maximum also raises some questions about the possibility of future design improvements. Can Apple continue to reduce the screen bezel on the next iPhone models? Whatever the future holds, the iPhone 16 Pro Max with its super-thin screen bezel will definitely be one of the most impressive phone designs of 2023.
The images include the recently discussed colorways, as well as key specs like the A18 chip. The leak shows all models, from the iPhone 16 to the iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The four images published by Lakhwinder Singh appear to be Apple's marketing materials for the iPhone 16 in the Chinese market, based on the text shown.
First, we find two images showing the colors of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16, accompanied by new wallpapers reminiscent of macOS X. This is not too surprising as similar images have appeared many times.
More interestingly, the image shows a brief list of iPhone 16 specs, confirming a vertically arranged camera cluster reminiscent of the iPhone 12. The phone is described as having a 6.1-inch display with an aluminum and glass body, along with an Action button on the side.
The device is also said to feature a 48MP camera capable of shooting video for Apple Vision Pro, along with an A18 chip and a USB-C port.
Another image shows the back of the iPhone 16 Pro, highlighting the rumored 48MP ultra-wide camera upgrade. The content also mentions the quad-lens (previously reserved for the iPhone 15 Pro Max) as well as the computational photography capabilities of the A18 Pro chip.
Note that while these leaks look like regular Apple marketing materials online, there’s no guarantee they’re authentic. Some are said to be capitalizing on the hype surrounding the iPhone 16, combined with Photoshop, to attract fans. Additionally, the source of the leak doesn’t have a notable history with Apple products.
The iPhone 16 is only three weeks away from launch, so in the meantime, keep in mind that the iPhone 16 will remain a global release, but will be rolled out gradually across different markets.
