According to a report from market research firm Canalys , the number of tablets shipped globally in the first quarter increased by 1%
compared to the same period last year, reaching 33.7 million devices.

This is considered a positive signal for the global tablet market after 4 consecutive quarters of decline.
This growth is driven by the gradually stabilizing economic situation as well as increased spending power of users.
"The tablet industry has had a positive start in 2024. Going forward, we expect the market to perform better than in 2023.
“The tablet market is on a steady growth path again. Features like 5G, foldable designs,
and the ability to view 3D content without glasses are likely to drive market growth,” said Himani Mukka, research director at Canalys.

in these two countries has also helped offset declines in other parts of the world.
The report also said Apple was the market leader, shipping more than 12,000 devices in the first quarter,
equivalent to 35.6% of the global tablet market share.

In early May, Apple refreshed its tablet lineup by introducing the new iPad Pro and iPad Air models.
The duo is expected to continue to help Apple maintain its leading position in the global tablet industry.
The next positions belong to Samsung (20.2%), Huawei (8.1%), Lenovo (6.3%) and Amazon (6.1%).
Of which, Huawei is the most prominent brand with a growth of 70% compared to the same period in 2023.
