Samsung fixes 'mistakes' on Galaxy S24 with Galaxy S25 version

Samsung was criticized by the technology community for making a mistake when equipping the Galaxy S24 and S24+ duo with the Exynos chip option launched earlier this year. With the upcoming Galaxy S25 series, Samsung will fix this.

Samsung did not use the same chip for the Galaxy S24 series launched in January.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra version uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip globally, while the Galaxy S24 and S24+ duo have different chips used, depending on the market.

Specifically, only the Galaxy S24 and S24+ sold in the US, Canada and China markets are equipped with the

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, while in other markets, this duo uses the Exynos 2400 chip developed by Samsung.

The decision to equip Samsung's high-end product series with Exynos chips is considered a mistake by the technology community, as it creates a difference in

performance on the same product, because the Exynos chip developed by Samsung has not yet achieved the same performance as Qualcomm's Snapdragon chip.

Technology site ZDNet quoted sources close to Samsung as saying that it is likely that the Galaxy S25

series launched early next year will only be equipped with Qualcomm's latest generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, without using the Exynos 2500 chip developed by Samsung.

One of the reasons for this decision is that Samsung has not yet been able to optimize the Exynos 2500 chip to achieve the highest possible performance, including both processing speed and battery saving capabilities.

Of course, from now until the Galaxy S25 series is launched, Samsung still has a lot of time to develop and optimize the Exynos 2500 processor chip.

However, according to some sources, Samsung will not rush to find ways to optimize the Exynos 2500 chip,

but will equip the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip for the Galaxy S25 series, then spend more time developing and optimizing the

Exynos 2500 chip to equip the company's new product models launched in late 2025 or early 2026.

If the leaked information is correct, users worldwide will be able to use the Galaxy S25 series with the

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, which is considered to have the best performance, instead of having a distinction in chip type according to different markets.

Galaxy S25 Ultra camera configuration specifications revealed

In addition to information about the processor chip, recently the configuration parameters of the camera cluster on the Galaxy S25 Ultra version have also been leaked.

Accordingly, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is still equipped with a main camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels, using the ISOCELL HP2 sensor developed by Samsung, which is better optimized to improve the ability to take photos in low light conditions.

A notable upgrade on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is that the product will be equipped with a 50 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, up from the 12 megapixels of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The telephoto camera supporting 3x optical zoom on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is also said to be upgraded to 50 megapixels, instead of 10 megapixels as before.

In addition, Samsung is also said to optimize the algorithm to help improve photo and video quality on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but detailed information about the change in the algorithm has not been revealed.

If Samsung maintains its development pace, the Galaxy S25 series will likely be launched in mid- or late January 2025.
