Huawei is preparing for the launch of its second flagship product line in 2024 called Mate 70 with an extremely outstanding camera system.
Last year’s Mate 60 series launch event was a big surprise when Huawei introduced the Kirin 9000s 5G application processor, which was entirely developed by the company. This was the first time Huawei used its own chip since the Mate 40 series launched in 2020 despite US restrictions.
The Huawei Mate 70 will be the successor to last year's Mate 60.
The Kirin 9000s are manufactured on SMIC's 7nm process, while iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max users get the more advanced A17 Pro chip using a 3nm process. The Mate 70 series is expected to use Huawei's 5nm chip, although it will be manufactured by SMIC using deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography thanks to a remarkable collaboration between the two companies.
Now, a live image of the Mate 70 Pro has surfaced on an online publication in Greece, showing the device being held by a Huawei executive. Previously, images of the tri-fold Mate XT were also released, showing Huawei CEO Richard Yu holding the device. This makes it no surprise that he is also holding the Mate 70 Pro in the new photo.
Leaked images of alleged Huawei Mate 70.
The photo shows the Mate 70 Pro with five cameras on the octagonal back and a display that curves on all four sides. However, the design of the phone is limited by the case. We can see the power button and volume rocker on the right side of the device. The Mate 70 Pro is expected to be powered by the Kirin 9100 chip manufactured using the 5nm process, which will surely be studied by regulators after its launch.
The Mate 70 series is expected to include 5 models: Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 RS Ultimate. The launch of this product line promises to bring many interesting things to consumers in the near future.
