The "huge" power of the M4 chip on the new MacBook has been leaked

Mac M4 leaked benchmark scores with performance "better" than iPad Pro?

Leaked benchmark results show that the M4 chip on the upcoming Mac is not only more powerful than the version on the iPad Pro , but also "surpasses" the M3 Pro and Snapdragon X Elite chips.

According to data from Geekbench 6, the Mac M4 model with the identifier Mac16.1 scored 3,864 points in single-core and 15,288 points in multi-core. This chip is said to be the highest-end 10-core version, with a maximum clock speed of 4.41GHz and comes with 16GB of RAM.

While the score is only slightly better than the M4 on the iPad Pro, it’s still a welcome sign. This performance could come from the Mac’s active cooling system, which helps the M4 chip maximize its power.

What's more remarkable is that the M4 easily beats the M3 Pro and Snapdragon X Elite - two powerful chips commonly found on high-end devices. This result shows the superior power of the new generation Apple Silicon chip, manufactured on the advanced 3nm process.

With what the M4 has shown, the technology world is expecting the "huge" performance of higher-end versions such as the M4 Pro and M4 Max, expected to appear on the upcoming MacBook Pro and Mac Studio models.

With the iPhone 16 launch event now behind us, Apple is gearing up for its next event, which is likely to take place in the coming weeks, according to Bloomberg.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the main topic of Apple's next event will be the company's first Macs with the AI and Apple Intelligence-focused M4 chip. New, cheaper iPads are also likely to be unveiled at the upcoming event.

So far, the Mac event is shaping up to be exactly as planned in April. Here are the highlights, including product codenames:

- J604: New low-cost 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 chip.

- J614 and J616: New high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros , each with two M4 Pro chip options.

- J623: New iMac with M4 chip.

- J773: a more compact version of the Mac mini, improved with M4 and M4 Pro chips.

According to Gurman, most of the Macs equipped with M4 chips have been shipped and are ready to launch in the near future, except for some higher-end MacBook Pros and Mac minis equipped with M4 Pro chips.
