This is why many people choose iPhone instead of Android phone

After many years of use, iPhones can still hold their value better than Android phones.

A new report from CIRP (Consumer Intelligence Research Partners) shows that iPhones still hold their resale value better than Android phones.

Specifically, 41% of iPhone users resell or trade in their old phones for cash or to buy a new one, compared to just 17% of Android users.

iPhones hold their value much longer than Android phones.

Reasons why iPhone holds its value well

- High initial value: iPhones often have higher selling prices than Android phones, so users tend to resell them to recover capital.

- Long battery life: iPhone users tend to keep their phones longer than Android users.

- Slow depreciation rate: iPhone models, especially the Pro line, have a slower depreciation rate than high-end Android devices.

- Vibrant resale market: Used iPhones are always in high demand on the resale market, making it easy for users to resell them at a good price.

- Easy to repair: Replacement parts for iPhones are more common and easier to find than for Android phones, which increases resale value.

However, not all iPhone models hold their value equally well, with the iPhone SE losing value significantly faster than other iPhone models.

While resale value is an important factor, it is not the only deciding factor when buying a phone.

Many users today tend to keep their phones for many years, making resale value less important.

With the popularity of refurbished phones, users have more options at affordable prices, whether they use iOS or Android.

While that may seem like good news for Apple, CIRP believes that the higher rate of people switching to Android could be a factor in the relatively weak iPhone 15 sales this year.

Android users are most interested in a new operating system and a new device at a competitive price, but this segment of users doesn't need Apple's latest product.

The reason is that Android users who switch to iPhone tend to choose older models with lower prices. This way, they can experience the feeling of using an iPhone while saving money, so a cheap model is still enough for them.

This leads to models like the iPhone 14, iPhone 13, and lower iPhones selling better than the newly launched iPhone 15 series.
