The chip will replace the Broadcom chips currently used by Apple for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Apple's Wi-Fi 7 chip will be manufactured using TSMC's 7nm process.
It's clear that Apple is looking to move "nearly all" of its products to its own Wi-Fi chips within about three years to cut supply costs and gain more profits.

Apple is also working on its own 5G chip, which will be separate from the Wi-Fi chip and manufactured using a different TSMC process technology.
This chip will also be gradually used from next year onwards.
The first product to come with Apple's own 5G modem will be the iPhone SE 4. However, it will still use a Broadcom Wi-Fi chip.

By making its own chips, Apple can better control the supply chain, saving costs.
However, this does not mean that future iPhones will be cheaper.
