Infinix launches phone back color changing technology, allowing users to customize unique colors and personalize the experience.
According to GSMArena, Infinix has just introduced an upgraded version of E-Color Shift 2.0 color-changing technology, following the success of the 2021 concept phone model. This technology promises to bring a unique personalized experience to users.
E-Color Shift is no stranger to tech enthusiasts. Before Infinix, Dai Nippon Printing applied a similar technology called e-ink to clothing, while BMW integrated this technology into the i Vision Dee concept car. In 2021, Infinix impressed with a phone concept that could change the color of its back. Now, E-Color Shift 2.0 marks a new step forward in this field.
E-Color Shift 2.0 technology helps change the color of the back of Infinix phones.
The highlight of E-Color Shift 2.0 is the ability to customize the back color to the user's liking through the ColorShift application. Similar to e-ink, the color will take a short time to stabilize, but will maintain its state even when the phone is turned off without consuming energy.
Unlike the previous version which only allowed changing colors in 4 quadrants, version 2.0 allows users to customize background colors and patterns in freeform shapes, creating many unique designs.
Customize colors through the ColorShift app.
The ColorShift app offers 6 different designs and 6 color palettes, allowing users to choose a background color (white, black, orange, yellow, blue) and the patterns will automatically adjust the color to stand out against the background.
However, according to the GSMArena website, the colors when changing are not really bright, especially yellow and orange, while blue is highly appreciated for its bold and beautiful color. Users can also turn on the "Display Loop" mode so that the phone automatically changes between designs and animation effects.
Some color options may vary.
In addition to changing the look, Infinix is exploring the possibility of using E-Color Shift 2.0 to display missed call and new message notifications. However, due to the slow color stabilization time, this feature is not really suitable for notifications that need immediate attention.
Another interesting idea is the AI Emotions Recognition feature, which analyzes user photos to identify emotions and change the back color accordingly. Infinix is also working on linking this technology with weather forecasts to automatically adjust the color according to weather conditions.
