Apple is about to update its entire Mac line with the M4 chip, marking a big step fo

According to leaks, Apple may update its entire Mac lineup with the M4 chip for the
irst time in more than a decade. Earlier this fall, the company introduced the first Mac models with the M4 chip, including the MacBook Pr
o, iMac, and Mac mini. Notable upgrades in this launch include faster Thun
derbolt ports, nano-texture display options, and a Center Stage camera.

ccording to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the MacBook Air is expected to get the M4 chip next spring, while the Mac Studio and Mac Pro will be u

Historically, Apple hasn’t updated its entire Mac lineup at once. Most recently, it did in 2020 with the M1 chip, with most Mac models getting an update in about 18 months, with the
exception of the Mac Pro. The Mac Pro was last updated in 2023 with the M2 Ultra chip. Other Macs like the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro were updated at WWDC22, while the next-ge

neration Mac mini and MacBook Pro were released in January 2023.
Back in 2019, Apple also refreshed most of its Macs, but there were no updates to the iMac Pro or Mac mini, creating an impe
rfect cycle. The last time every Mac was updated in a 12-month period was in 2013,
when Apple introduced the cylindrical “trash can” Mac Pro alongside the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini.
If the M4 chip rumors are true, it would be a huge step forward for Apple, marking the first time in over a decade that the entire Mac lineup has been refreshed. Users are eagerly awaiting these improvements and hoping that Apple sticks to its plan.
