According to the latest rumors, the high-end iPhone 18 Pro duo may increase in price due to the 2nm chip inside being too expensive.
While the iPhone 17 series has yet to launch, rumors are already rife about the iPhon
e 18 models. These iPhones are expected to launch in late 2026.
Apple is rumored to use TSMC's 2-nanometer processors for the first time in 2
026. Manufacturing chips using the 2nm process is quite expensive and this will increase the price of the iPhone 18 Pro/ iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Moving from 3nm to 2nm process chips could cost Apple an additional $35 per iPhone application processor.
The Cupertino tech giant is expected to continue using the 3nm process for th
e standard iPhone 18's processor to keep costs reasonable.
Of course, using a 2nm chip for the iPhone 18 Pro will help improve the chip's
performance and energy efficiency. The processor powering the iPhone 18 Pro duo will probably be the A20 Pro.

In theory, the 2nm chip in the iPhone 18 Pro models should ensure better battery life and faster processing.
In addition to this super-premium chip, the iPhone 18 Pro will have an unde
r-display Face ID sensor, which will reduce or eliminate the Dynamic Island area on the f
ront of the device. The 2026 iPhone generation will also come with a variable aperture wide-angle lens for better depth and bokeh effects.
Of course, it’s still too early to say for sure what Apple’s plans are for thes
e iPhones. The rumors above suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro/ iPhone 18 Pro Max prices will
increase, but things could change in two years.
