The latest leak shows that Samsung is developing an ultra-thin flagship model to compete directly with the iPhone 17 Air.
Famous leaker Ice Universe recently revealed that Samsung has big ambitions for the super-thin Galaxy S25 Slim phone, especially when this device will have an impressive thinness of only "6.x mm". If this information is correct, the S25 Slim will surpass both the Galaxy S24 Ultra (8.6mm) and iPhone 16 Pro Max (8.3mm) in terms of thinness, and set a new record in the Galaxy S series.
Will Samsung respond to Apple with the Galaxy S25 Slim?
This move by Samsung is said to be in response to Apple, when there are rumors that the company is developing the iPhone 17 Air with an ultra-thin design, reminiscent of the iPhone 6 (6.9mm). The "thin and light" race between the two technology giants promises to bring breakthrough products and attract users.
However, optimizing performance on an ultra-thin design is a big challenge. If Samsung equips the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for the S25 Slim, temperature control will be a difficult problem. Samsung will most likely have to use a larger vapor chamber to dissipate heat effectively.
However, users should have realistic expectations about the performance of the S25 Slim, especially if they use the device with high intensity. Samsung needs to balance the thin and light design with stable performance to create a truly attractive product.
Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to launch with the Galaxy S25 series in early 2025, promising to create a new "fever" in the high-end smartphone segment.
