The smartphone is borrowing iOS 18's anti-motion sickness feature

Honor launches the 300 Series with Motion Sickness Relief, which helps reduce motion sickness symptoms, providing a more comfortable mobile experience.

Motion sickness is a common phenomenon that affects many people, but some people are more susceptible to it. To help users reduce the symptoms, Honor has just announced the launch of its 300 Series in China, with a special feature called "Motion Sickness Relief".

The new lineup features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, high-quality cameras, and fast wired and wireless charging. The "Motion Sickness Relief" feature is designed to reduce discomfort caused by motion sickness, allowing users to have a comfortable visual experience even when on the move. The phone automatically detects the direction of movement and displays dots on the screen to represent real-time movement.

This feature isn't new. Back in May, Apple introduced "Vehicle Motion Cues" to the iPhone and iPad, which display moving dots on the screen to adjust the feel between what the user sees and what they feel. The feature was implemented in the iOS 18 update.

Honor's development shows that the idea is gaining traction among tech companies. Google is even working on a similar version called "Motion Cues," although the feature has yet to be officially released. The latest beta of Google Play Services adds a new activity and a Quick Settings tile so users can enable the feature in the future.

Competition in the technology industry is constantly increasing, and such innovations promise to deliver better experiences to consumers.
