Some leaked information suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro will use an alumi
num frame instead of titanium, will Apple really change on its new product?
According to Phone Arena, a reliable source has revealed that the iPhone 17
Pro may use an aluminum frame instead of titanium like previous models. This information is reinforced by another leak, suggesting tha
t the high cost/benefit ratio may be the reason why Apple decided to abandon the titanium material.
However, @InstantDigital - a reputable technology blogger from China has denied this information and affirmed that the i
Phone 17 Pro will continue to use a titanium design, eliminating the possibility of using aluminum.

While the source has not been confirmed, they believe it would be unreasonabl
e for Apple to switch to another material after two years of promoting the advantages of titanium.
In fact, in the press materials for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro, App

le has repeatedly emphasized titanium with outstanding properties such as high durability and light weight. The company also boasts t
hat the titanium alloy used for the phone is a material used in the aerospace industry.
Previously, Apple used stainless steel for the Pro models, while the standard and SE models used aluminum. Stainles
s steel is more durable and more expensive than aluminum. In the iPhone 14 P
ro press release, Apple emphasized that the phone is designed with medical-grade stainless steel (316LVM).
So the move to aluminum may be seen as a downgrade by some customers, even though aluminum is lighter than both stainless steel and titanium, but Apple's marketing department may have a hard time promoting it the way they did with titanium.
However, given that titanium doesn't significantly reduce the weight of the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro, it's understandable why Apple would consider ditching the material. @InstantDigital also didn't comment on other design changes that are rumored for the iPhone 17 Pro, which include a glass-and-aluminum back and a larger rectangular camera array. It's possible that Apple is still in the process of evaluating and hasn't made a final decision on the design of this product.
