This feature will help Galaxy S25 Ultra "beat" iPhone 16 Pro Max

According to the latest report, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will "beat" the iPhone 16 Pro Max in this way.

Last year, maximum screen brightness became the new dividing line between smartphone makers. Apple kicked things off by claiming the iPhone 15 could hit 2,000 nits of screen brightness before Google bumped the Pixel 8 Pro's screen brightness to 2,400 nits.

This year, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a maximum screen brightness of 2,600 nits, followed by the Google Pixel 9 Pro with a screen brightness of 3,000 nits. Meanwhile, Apple still keeps the brightness of 2,000 nits for the iPhone 16 Pro.

There have been a lot of leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to Android Authority, the flagship will have a maximum screen brightness of 3,000 nits, just like the Pixel 9 Pro.

While still a far cry from the OnePlus 12's ridiculous 4,500 nits, this brightness is still useful when using the phone in bright conditions.

On the other hand, according to sources, after the successful launch of the Galaxy A55, the Galaxy S25 series will support seamless A/B updates. This is a great feature - the phone will download important firmware updates in the background before applying them upon reboot, saving users from long hours when the phone is turned on but not usable.

However, rumors suggest that the Galaxy S25 Ultra won't support Find My Device when turned off like the Pixel 9. That means if a thief takes your phone and then immediately turns it off, you won't be able to track its movements in real time.

Other rumors suggest the Galaxy S25 Ultra's display will retain the same 3,120 x 1,440 resolution as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the battery will also maintain a 5,000 mAh capacity. According to Android Authority, the phone will feature UFS 4.0 internal storage, which should allow for faster file transfer speeds.

The latest leaks suggest that Samsung is planning its next Unpacked event for Wednesday, January 22. At the event, three Galaxy S25 phones will be announced alongside the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Slim and the Galaxy Ring 2 smart ring.

With the OnePlus 13 set to launch globally on January 7, two of the best Android phones of 2025 will soon go head-to-head.
