Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, the next foldable phone, is expected to launch in the first half of 2025 with Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and 5,000 mAh battery.
Xiaomi officially launched its first foldable phone, the Xiaomi Mix Flip, in July. According to reports, the device received positive feedback from users, prompting the brand to start developing a successor.
According to a leak from blogger @DigitalChatStation, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is expected to launch in China in the first half of 2025. DCS also said that the strong sales of the first-generation model have motivated a significant upgrade for the next version.

The first generation Xiaomi Mix Flip was equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, while the Mix Flip 2 will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite, promising to become a competitor to Samsung 's Galaxy Z Flip 7 - one of the rare flip-style phones on the market using the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
Additionally, according to a Weibo post from DCS, the Mix Flip 2 will feature wireless charging, which the first generation did not have. While the original model did not have an IP rating, the Mix Flip 2 is expected to be IPX8 rated, which should provide better water resistance. The design of the Mix Flip 2 is also said to be thinner and more flexible than its predecessor.
In August, the Mix Flip 2 appeared with model numbers 2505APX7BC and 2505APX7BG in the GSMA IMEI database. Although there was no device name in the database, many speculated that these model numbers correspond to the Chinese and global versions of the Mix Flip 2, respectively.
The EEC recently approved the global version of the Mix Flip 2, suggesting that the device will be released in European markets in the future. However, other than the chipset, no other information has been revealed about this phone model.
In China, some flip-style folding phones currently have batteries with capacities of around 4,800 mAh, so it's no surprise that the Mix Flip 2 is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery or more, following the trend of increasing battery size on current flagship devices.
