Apple's iPhone 17 Slim 2025 will be a "makeover" of the iPhone design after many year
s of no change.
The iPhone 17 generation is expected to launch in September this year. However, the
2025 collection could make a big change.

According to many rumors, the iPhone 17 Plus may be dropped from this product line d
ue to its lack of popularity compared to other iPhone models. Instead, Apple will introduce a completely new product.
It is the iPhone 17 Slim or iPhone 17 Air, a thinner version of the iPhone com
pared to the other versions. Here is a summary of rumors and speculations about this special iPhone.
iPhone 17 Slim will be really thin
As the name suggests, the iPhone 17 Slim will be much thinner than the regular iPho
ne. The iPhone SE is the thinnest in Apple's lineup at 0.29 inches thick, while the iPhone 16 is 0.31 inches thick.

Back in May 2024, a report claimed that the thin iPhone would go on sale in 2025, a
part of the iPhone lineup. The device, codenamed D23, represents a radical redesign of the iPhone with changes as obvious as the launch of the iPhone X.

Two months later, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed the ultra-thin iPhone would feature a titanium-aluminum alloy frame for increased durability. A rumor in October added that the iPhone Slim's thickness would be limited by the battery, with a minimum thickness of 6mm.
In November, analyst Jeff Pu also claimed that the iPhone 17 Slim would be just 6mm (0.23 inches) thick. In another report in January, Kuo said that the device would be just 5.5mm thick at its thinnest point.
iPhone 17 Slim may have a smaller screen than iPhone Plus
Kuo's previously rumored specs list said the device would have a 6.6-inch display, which would be smaller than the iPhone 16 Plus' 6.7-inch display. Jeff Pu's October report also mentioned that the iPhone 17 Slim would have a 6.6-inch display.

In addition, Mr. Kuo confirmed that this iPhone will have a resolution of 2,740 x 1,260 pixels, close to the 2,760 x 1,290 pixel resolution of the iPhone 16 Plus. There are also claims that the iPhone 17 Slim may inherit the 120Hz ProMotion display system from the iPhone Pro models.
However, due to its slim design, the iPhone 17 Slim will probably only use eSIM. Additionally, reports say that Apple will switch to its own in-house modem instead of Qualcomm's. This will be a win for Apple, but the peak speeds will not be as high and the reliability of the cellular network will be worse.
In other words, the iPhone 17 Slim will still support 5G, but it's the sub-6GHz band, not the high-speed, broadband band.
