According to the latest report, Apple's iPhone sales are facing competition from Chinese smartphone brands.
The latest research shows
that in 2024, overall smartphone sales increased by 4% compared to the same period in 2023, but the iPhone 's market share decreased slig
htly as "rivals" such as Xiaomi became increasingly popular.
Previous reports have shown that iPhone sales are declining, although in November 2024, the iPhone 15 was leading global sales. It is
easy to see that the iPhone 15 is a good seller, as new data from Counterpoint Research shows that the iPhone 16 is selling worse.

The iPhone 16 has had mixed success because its much-hyped Apple Inte
lligence features were not available at launch, Counterpoint analysts said, and instead, Chinese smartphone companies have seen the biggest growth.
Xiaomi, for example, is third on the list with a market share of 14%. Despite starting from a smaller user base than Apple or Samsung, its market share has grown significantly compare
d to 2023. However, Apple has been growing steadily since the launch of the iPhone 16. Counterpoint estimates that the iPhone is on tra
ck to capture 50% of the ultra-premium smartphone market.

While not releasing any details or figures, Counterpoint said that this ultra-premium smartphone segment will be the fastest growing segment o
f the market by 2024. This segment is defined as smartphones priced above $1,000 (about 25.3 million VND), so most of Apple's iPhone lines qualify.

Overall, Apple will account for 18% of the global smartphone market in 2024, down 2%. However, this is still enough to put the "Ap
ple House" in second place behind Samsung - the company increased its market share by 1% compared to 2023 to reach 19%. Counterpoint also stated that 2023 was the worst year for smartphone sales in a decade.
Notably, JP Morgan analysts claim, the figures show that Apple Intelligence is not the deciding factor for iPhone 16 buyers.
