Rumors from Korea say Samsung is developing a foldable smartphone with a unique "G" design.
According to a recent report from Sisa Journal, Samsung is said to be planning to launch a "double-fold" foldable screen smartphone in the second half of 2025. This device will have a special "G" design, folding inwards twice, providing a large screen of up to 9-10 inches when opened.
Samsung promises to shake up the foldable phone market in 2025.
The source also said that Samsung Display, the subsidiary responsible for Samsung's display production, is actively preparing for the launch of this new hardware. However, Samsung may not use an under-display camera (UDC) for the first generation of this foldable device due to concerns about resolution quality.
Previously, there were many rumors about Samsung developing a smartphone with a "double-fold" or "roll-up" foldable screen. However, this latest report shows that Samsung is leaning towards a "double-fold" design with an inward folding mechanism to increase the durability of the screen.
Samsung is expected to launch this foldable smartphone alongside the new generation Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold. However, the initial production quantity will likely be limited to less than 300,000 units.
