According to sources, the long-standing feature on the Galaxy Z Fold series will be removed on the Galaxy Z Fold
7, making the phone thinner.
A recent report claims that a traditional feature of the Galaxy Z Fold will disappear on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 - expec
ted to be announced this summer. That is the S Pen. Since the release of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the foldabl
e smartphone has supported this accessory pen.

However, Samsung has pulled this feature from the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition model sold in Korea a
nd China. By removing the S Pen from the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, the manufacturer will remove
the digitizer, allowing the phone to reduce its thickness by 12% to 4.9mm when opened and 10.6mm when folded.
Previously, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 was 5.6mm thick when opened and 12.1mm thick when folded. The dig
itizer is the layer of the phone's display that recognizes signals from the S Pen and converts them into touch input.

According to the latest speculation, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the global version of the Galaxy Z Fold Sp
ecial Edition with a major upgrade. Instead of using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 application processor, the Snapdrag
on 8 Elite AP will be inside the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This is the first Snapdragon AP chip manufactured using the 3nm process and brings better performance and energy efficiency.

In fact, the Snapdragon 8 Elite version used on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have 7 CPU cores instead of 8 CPU cores on the regular AP chip version.
Samsung is expected to release four foldable phones this year:
• Galaxy Z Fold 7

• Galaxy Z Flip FE (Special Edition)
