In 2022, Apple introduced "Made in America" chips under the US CHIPS Act. The CHIPS Act aims to promo
te domestic semiconductor manufacturing and development, helping to maintain America's global competitive
ness. The act is expected to help the US free itself from dependence on China for chip supplies and also create jobs for American workers.
A number of TSMC chip factories have been built in Arizona, and some of the manufacturing is dedicated to Apple chips in older devices.
However, production of smaller 2nm chips has been delayed until 2028.
The facilities will initially produce some S9 SiP parts for the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, as well as the A16 Bionic chip found in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15

Plus. It's possible that the plant will also be responsible for manufacturing newer devices in the future.
However, the new factories have had some problems. Many workers were reportedly brought in from Taiwan instead of being hired in the United States. The company initially s
aid this was a temporary measure, but over time, the situation has drawn scrutiny from TSMC, and there has even been a lawsuit accusing the company of discriminating against Americans.

A brief report from Nikkei said that the trial production phase has been eliminated and factories are ready to start mass production soon.
According to multiple sources, Apple's first batch of mass-produced chips is expected to be completed as early as this quarter, after quality assurance processes are completed.
Apple's A-series processors are designed to focus on top performance and efficiency. Manufacturing them in the US will strengthen Apple's supply chain and make the Cupertino-based company less dependent on overseas manufacturing.
Simply put, American consumers will get their favorite tech gadgets and the latest iPhones faster, while Apple will be less vulnerable to disruptions to its global supply chain.
