This means the iPhone Air model will start at around $800. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to have less powerful specs than its “brothers” and is aimed at users who value aesthetics.

The phone will reportedly be just 6.25mm thick. The standard iPhone 16 model was previously 7.8mm thick.
The iPhone Plus models are the replacements for the previously released iPhone mini. The iPhone 17 Air is Apple's latest attempt at creating a new iPhone model aimed at a specific segment.
Samsung — Apple’s biggest rival in the smartphone industry — is also working on a slimmer smartphone. The Galaxy S25 Slim was reportedly finalized when news of the iPhone 17 Air first began to emerge. It will also be roughly the same thickness as the iPhone 17 Air.
