Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have upgrades in chip, camera and appearance.
Apple's iPhone 17 series is scheduled to launch in late 2025. However, some early rumors have given the public some information about them.

Design and display
While the iPhone 16 Pro Max is similar to its predecessor, it also introduces one pretty significant change — a larger display. The 6.9-inch display makes the iPhone 16 Pro Max taller, wider, and heavier than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which has a 6.7-inch display. Otherwise, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is easily recognizable as an Apple phone with its Dynamic Island housing the front-facing camera and Face ID sensors, and a triangular camera cluster on the back.

It is expected that on the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the 6.9-inch screen will remain the same, the back will have a horizontal camera bar. Most likely, this flagship will still use a titanium frame.
According to a source, Apple will switch to TEE technology for the screens of the iPhone 17 Pro pair - making the screen more durable while increasing power efficiency.
In terms of color, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will come in Teal Titanium, Green Titanium, and Dark Green Titanium. Previously, the iPhone 16 Pro Max came in Black, White, Desert, and Natural Titanium.
What will the camera of iPhone 17 Pro Max be like?
The iPhone 16 Pro Max brings major improvements to the camera setup, adding a new 48MP Fusion camera as well as a 48MP ultra-wide lens. The Fusion camera is faster than the previous generation, focusing faster and without shutter lag. The ultra-wide camera has a higher resolution than the previous 12MP sensor.
Those features are expected to return to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Additionally, the "Apple House" will introduce a 48MP telephoto camera, an upgrade from the 12MP telephoto camera on the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

There are also sources confirming that Apple will add a variable aperture on the iPhone 17 Pro duo, allowing photographers to control it with a mechanical system. This addition will help users better control the depth of field in their photos.
Another rumor suggests that all iPhone 17 models will feature a new TrueDepth camera with a 24MP camera - a step up from the current 12MP camera.
iPhone 17 Pro Max Performance
The iPhone 17 series is expected to have the new A19 chip. With the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the product will run the A19 Pro chip.
Initial reports suggested that the A19 chip could be manufactured on a 2-nanometer process, which would be more powerful than the 3nm A18 chip, offering better performance and lower power consumption. However, later reports have shown that the A19 is also only a 3nm chip.
