After launching the ultra-thin iPhone Air this year, Apple may launch a new iPhone Ultra line next year.
Rumors of a book-style folding iPhone have been swirling around the tech community, with leaks suggesting Apple could be close to mass production. Multiple sources have suggested that the product could be announced by the end of next year, a much-anticipated date.
Will iPhone Ultra be the name that matches the class of the foldable iPhone?
As for the name, sources are now focusing on whether this iPhone could be called the iPhone Ultra. This information was provided by famous journalist Mark Gurman from Bloomberg on the YouTube channel Geared Up. In his sharing about the product, Mr. Gurman believes that the Ultra name will be suitable for the new foldable iPhone model. However, this information is only for reference because Mr. Gurman previously predicted that the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be called the iPhone 15 Ultra, but that clearly did not happen.
Explaining why the iPhone Ultra was named, Mr. Gurman emphasized that with no device having a higher position than a foldable smartphone , the iPhone Ultra will mark an important step forward for Apple, helping consumers easily distinguish between traditional iPhone models and this top-of-the-line smartphone.
Previously, the name iPhone Ultra was assigned to predictions about the iPhone 15 Ultra.
As for the release date, Mark Gurman predicted that the iPhone Ultra could be introduced late next year. Another report said that Apple is in the process of narrowing down its list of suppliers to buy components, with an expected launch date in the second half of 2026. TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also provided information that the iPhone Ultra will not integrate Face ID due to design challenges, and the price could be as high as $2,500, a figure that will "overwhelm" consumers.
