The latest rumor claims that the high-end iPhone 17 Pro Max smartphone will be thicker to make room for a larger battery.
According to a new report posted on social media site Weibo, the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max will be thicker than its predecessor. This is just one of many design changes that Apple will make to its iPhone lineup this fall.

This rumor comes from Ice Universe - who regularly makes predictions about Apple products. According to the report, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be 8.725mm thick, up from the 8.25mm thickness of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This will be Apple's thickest iPhone since the iPhone 4S.
According to Ice Universe, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be thicker to accommodate a larger battery. The source did not provide any further details about the device's larger battery capacity. As usual, increasing the battery size does not mean that the smartphone's battery life will be longer. Apple may need to increase the battery size to accommodate new features - which are power-hungry.

If you want an ultra-thin iPhone, iFan will have a new option this year: the iPhone 17 Air. This will be Apple's thinnest iPhone ever, with an impressive thickness of 5.5mm. However, this iPhone will have many disadvantages, such as only having a single rear camera.
In a separate Weibo post, Ice Universe also said that the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air will be similar in design, except for thickness. Both devices will be 163mm tall, 77.6mm wide, and have a 6.9-inch screen with 1.15mm bezels.
