Xiaomi 15 Ultra is in the top best camera on DxOMark

Xiaomi's latest smartphone, 15 Ultra, has officially launched in Vietnam for 34.99 million VND.

It packs some impressive hardware, including a 200MP periscope telephoto lens and a 1-inch main sensor, which puts it ahead of many rivals, including Apple's high-end iPhone series. However, despite its hardware prowess, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra still doesn't make it into DxOMark's top 10 cameras.

In DxOMark's camera test, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra scored 153 points, ranking 13th globally. This is Xiaomi's best performance ever, surpassing last year's Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which ranked 19th with 149 points. However, this product is still inferior to major competitors such as Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Honor Magic 6 Pro.

Despite not making it to the top of the rankings, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra's camera isn't bad. In fact, Samsung 's Galaxy S25 Ultra ranked even lower, at 24th place. DxOMark praised the Xiaomi 15 Ultra for its high detail, low noise, accurate exposure, wide dynamic range, and strong color rendering.

However, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has some issues such as warm color cast in photos and videos, inconsistent contrast, as well as noise that affects image quality.

Additionally, some shooting conditions can result in loss of texture and autofocus issues that make focusing less smooth. In particular, the narrow depth of field can blur the background in group shots - a limitation of the main camera.

With these shortcomings, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra may disappoint users, especially when it is expected to be one of the best products. However, there is no denying that this smartphone still owns some of the most impressive mobile camera hardware today.
